Bakersfield, CA – Andrew Anderson has shown steady improvement throughout the 2021 season, after returning from a break from racing. Anderson enters Round #6 of the Spears Modified Series season sixth in the championship standings, as the Modifieds head to Kern County Raceway for the “Lucas Oil 50 presented by General Tire”. He will look to continue his improvement at Kern, and close on the Rookie-of-the-Year Championship leader Sam Jacks, as the series heads into its second half of the season.
Anderson started the season at the All-Star Showdown, at his home track, Irwindale Speedway. The team finished 19th in their return, but have failed to finish outside the top-10 since that point. Anderson rolled into Kern County Raceway, and brought home a seventh in his first start there. Returning to the Irwindale 1/3-mile, he scored another seventh. The team then headed to Roseville, CA and All-American Speedway. There he scored his first top-five finish, coming home in the five hole. Moving to the Irwindale ½-mile for the first time of the season, Anderson battled to a come from behind fourth-place finish, to continue his progression up the championship standings.
The Missions Hills, CA driver will now look to continue the trend as he heads to Kern County Raceway this weekend. Anderson sits 17 points behind Sam Jacks, 730 – 713. With a strong run, he could move into the top-five in points, and take the rookie lead over the Las Vegas, NV star.

LiUNA Local 220 will also present the largest fireworks display in Kern County. Admission Gates open at 5:00 pm with Qualifying beginning at 5:30 pm for the Pro Late Models, Modifieds, Super Late Models and finally the BMR Academy with run their second feature of the weekend. Qualifying Heats for the Super Late Models begin at 7:30 pm, followed by the feature events for the SPEARS Modifieds, Pro Late Models, and a Fireworks display. The final event of the evening will be the $10,000-to-win “JM Environmental Inc. Wild West Shootout – Get It Hot 75” for the Super Late Models
